Chemical peels involve the controlled renewal of the skin using acid formulations of varying depths of action. The procedure helps with post-acne, uneven tone, pigmentation, enlarged pores, fine lines and reduced turgor, and is also suitable for seasonal skin restoration.
Before the session, the doctor determines the type and condition of the skin, identifies contraindications and selects the formulation and concentration. Sometimes preliminary preparation with home care products is required. The procedure lasts about 45 minutes: the skin is cleansed, the peel is applied, the reaction is monitored, then neutralised and completed with soothing care. A burning sensation and subsequent flaking are possible.
